December 11, 2022 - 76% Syrah/24% Mourvedre. Wild berry, black raspberry, and dark plums. Still well balanced after 12 years of age with notes of black licorice, minerals, earth, spice, and subtle tobacco. Smooth tannins at this point with a savory long finish. Excellent now and over the next few years if you have any.
September 3, 2022 - Medium deep color. A rich wine with lots of black and blue fruits in the nose with licorice, minerals, floral, and hints of chocolate. Blackberries, black cherries, plums, raspberries, and spice in the flavor. An elegant and complex wine, full bodied, well balanced and a long finish.

April 5, 2020 - Dark fruit, cocoa, meat and blood. Needs red meat and or lots of strong gooey cheese. Paired well with lamb chops and with Kobe cheese burgers. A few hours of air mellowed out the extracted chocolate and fruit flavors and greatly improved this wine.

April 15, 2019 - Packed with sweet dark fruit, anise and Asian spice. Plenty of structure and acidity to keep it going at least 5 more years. Alcohol well hidden for such a big wine.
December 29, 2018 - 76% Syrah and 24% Mourvedre. International Wine Report’s #1 Wine of the Year for 2013 and a well deserved recognition. Outstanding bottle of wine. In a good spot right now. Recommend to drink now, though if you want to hold should still have more life in it.
June 25, 2018 - Whoa, this is fantastic! 76% Syrah, 24% Mourvedre. Wild berry, black currant, and blackberry fruit. Great structure on this wine with a wonderful balance of flavors that include black licorice, smoked meat, earth, tobacco, and a smoky savory component on the end. Chewy tannins and a tremendously long finish. Great wine, the extra years of age have done this justice.
May 5, 2018 - Full bodied yet graceful, with blackberry and black currant, licorice and hints of grilled meat. Finishes with solid minerality.
April 14, 2018 - Nice blend of Syrah and Mourvedre. Drinking well with some air. These Epoch wines are very masculine cocktail wines with bold, pure notes and lots of alcohol and tannins. Good if you like the style.
