May 13, 2018 - Love this wine. Deep brooding black fruit, spice, port-like concentration. Soft texture. Wonderful wine drinking fantastically now.
February 6, 2018 - Love this stuff. Spice, incense, black fruit, earth, chewy sweet tannins. With breathing, a gorgeous old fashioned black licorice comes out to play. Long finish. Love!
September 27, 2014 - Awesome, Big Wine.
Tannic with balanced, big fruits.
January 25, 2014 - This was decanted for a couple of hours. Didn't take notes, but this wine showed a little too much sweetness (residual sugar) for my liking. It was velvety smooth in texture, not showing a lot of complexity, but quite tasty. It did get a little less sweet with more air, but I wasn't all that impressed overall (B+).
January 11, 2014 - This wine took a while to open up. Be patient and you will be rewarded!
December 7, 2013 - Dark lavender and purple colored. This wine was decanted for several hours. Wonderful nose of blackberry pie, roasted meat with smoked spice and herbs. Big juicy wine which had wonderful acidity to keep everything in balance. It was very light on its feet while having amazing depth. Notes of more berry pie, beef au jous, wet earth, and juicy macerated berries but not sweet. If I had to describe it in one word, well, it would definitely be... JUICY!
October 11, 2013 - Dark berries and meat. Wonderfully balanced and went very well with meatballs.
May 26, 2013 - PnP at BBQ. Very nice dark red fruit with good body and finish. A very nice mourvedre. The syrah adds some peppery cocoa notes. Definitely got better as it opened up, so glad I have more of these in my cellar
April 9, 2013 - Tasted over two days. The immediate impression is earthy mourvedre fruit, but the 25% of added syrah and grenache works beautifully to undercoat the wine with contrasting bright red fruit flavor. Very consistent expression throughout both days.
January 23, 2013 - Some cocoa and vanilla cola on nose....on palate, the fruit is surprisingly restrained....tannins are present, but well integrated...not too ripe....
