June 22, 2019 - Medium purple with a touch of garnet. Really for a 11 year old. Blackberry spice and green cedar. Palate is earthy fruit with some spice and a hint of mint. Blackberry to blueberry with medium acid and fine tannins. Nearly the end. Not sure about next year.

August 21, 2018 - The opening notes are earthy fruit and spice. Not too complex but pretty well balanced. Probably at the end of its drinking window. Second day not enough body to finish.

September 21, 2016 - A little too mushy, mellow, blended for me. Smell, taste, feel are all very smooth, but hard to discern a key flavor. I'd say it would be a hit at casual events such as a pizza party. But to enjoy on its own, or with a fine meal ... meh.

September 26, 2015 - When we first opened and poured through the vinturi, there was a tiny amount of bottle age funk that almost, but never entirely blew off. The wine really came alive with a few minutes in the glass. The bottle age has released an old shoe leather meets charcoal overall influence to some very mature, peppery, sappy, orange marmalade, cherry preserves and crushed dried raspberry flavors. The color is still youthfully dark purple. Coats the mouth with mature tannins as only a properly aged wine can, especially for a wine a little more than medium bodied. Nicely evolved and integrated, we caught this one just in time, lucky us. Lingering dry graphite and mature red fruit finish.

April 8, 2015 - Alluring, bright fruit nose displays black olives, spices, cola, firewood, and an attractive feral element that adds aromatic complexity. The palate follows suit, with a plummy core of black and red fruit, cardamom spice, and dusty tannins. This really shines at the 1-hour mark, showing good balance and a unified finish.

March 14, 2015 - Very consistent wine, scored the same every time. Great fruit with smooth tannins, wonderful with a porkroast with a mustard bacon sauce. Sorry to say this was my last bottle, but I do not think it will improve.
