March 26, 2024 - Boston Wine & Poker, Brookline, NH: Tasted blind. Light color. Deceptively tannic. Iron. Floral nose. Very nice, restrained Pinot Noir. From Philip's cellar.

February 25, 2022 - In spite these peas-in-a-pod labels, presumably this is the only merchant admitted into that selected club of great vignerons. So a well-know house, a great vintage and a long-term rental agreement of this powerful terroir can't make a bad bottle. In this particular case it was bought fifteen years ago, pnp in a Zalto glass half hour before lunch and uncorked by the Durand. Beautiful ruby crystal clear colour. Four-squared no more on the nose. Easily fleshy, notes of coal mineral, iron ore and spice acacia perfumed. Firmly masculine wine? Only on the palate, man. Seriously acid, watery texture, decent length and a liquor-like aftertaste. Below 90? Think it twice, buddy.

¿Vino firmemente masculino? Sólo en el paladar, tío. Seriamente ácido, textura acuosa, longitud decente y un regusto a licor. ¿Por debajo de 90? Piénsalo dos veces, colega.

August 1, 2018 - Initially closed at open. Medium ruby with light orange tint on the side. After 15mins a mineral driven black fruit aroma emerged, but not heavy at all. Some secondary animal notes behind the fruits on palate. Tannin is here but soften already, but still have that four square-ness and structure of Pommard. Medium acidity but refreshing for this stage. Some spicy note, a bit warm on the back palate for the alcohol - 13.5% on label, quite high for this vintage. Medium aftertaste. Overall balanced wine but lack flairs and substances. I would expect more from this good terroir in Pommard - it has more grace than other Pommard's but I was expecting more complexity. Already from a good vintage. 15/20
