August 26, 2012 - My concern on opening this bottle was that it might have matured for too long. Initially there was little aroma, but over an hour or so it unfolded with some notes of dark fruits even at 9 years of age. Dark garnet/ruby colour, leathery, earthy nose with hints of black currants and spices, perhaps cinnamon, on the palate round, balanced, well bodied with some vanilla and a slight metally tang.
