November 19, 2022 - Not flawed, but desiccated and a little hot. Still showing black cherry and granite minerality, horsesweat, but a shadow of its former self. At least this bottle.

May 14, 2022 - Slightly funky opening but then opened up superbly - followed by 70 Palmer and 70 Yquem

June 22, 2021 - opened 1 hour prior to serving from the bottle. Earthy, leather, and smoky, with a little bit of savory notes on the palate. Twenty minutes later this was more fragrant with cedar notes. Another 10 minutes later and we had nice tobacco notes. Some 2 hours after opening this became more voluptuous, even floral with some roses and violet. Very happy with this bottle.

June 17, 2017 - not decanted. Initially showing plenty of soy sauce, savory black olives and tapenade, with perhaps a hint of coconut butter underneath, and definitely some fruit there, but more stewed prunes instead of fresh and sweet. A bit of smoke, too.

January 22, 2016 - Cork broke. Signs of seepage.
    Heavy sediment in wine.
    N: massive ferrous smokey nose.
P: a bit lean on start, quite smokey, it did put on some weight and began waking up. Cinnamon and clove were dominant flavours. Texture was aerial.

Good wine all things considered, but did not give me the shivers I was hoping for.

    12.5% abv
