October 9, 2021 - 3 hour decant. I was expecting a more fruit forward wine based upon myh last bottle and was pleasantly surprised to see how this wine developed and unfolded. The fruit was ripe but nowhere near jammy. Plenty of minerals, cedar, sweet Oak, and touch of eucalyptus and tar. My preferred style. Very smooth.
October 24, 2020 - We bought a case of '07 Concerto for my then 6 year old granddaughters wedding in 2011. We had 2 more bottles from a wine club shipment also in the cellar. I opened a bottle to share with my wife, daughter and son inlaw to see how the wine is aging. We were delighted. Decanted for 1.5 hours, still vibrant color and nice fruit. I feel confortable that the '07 will be good whenever the wedding day for the now 15 year old comes.
August 29, 2020 - Wow - this was certainly a great find on Spectrum ... got it for less than a third of what comparable wines from To Kalon would go for (and can definitely hang with many of them) Went with a 6 hour decant, noted cocoa powder on the nose and graham cracker on the palate. Definitely many years ahead but don't hesitate to try now. Day 2 just as good as Day 1.
February 7, 2020 - I decanted this wine for two hours approx. prior using Vspin, still was very shy to the nose. However, once you put it on your mouth the wine shows its beauty. Deep dark purple/garnet color. Plenty red fruits and blackberries still left. Medium/full body with long finish. Smooth silky tannins surrounded with violets and lavenders aromas. Very little oak left which helps to showcase the wine beautifully. A master piece.
January 25, 2020 - Ran it through a vinturi into a decanter. 45 minutes in decanter and back into bottle through funnel. This bottle was heavier mouthfeel than my last couple and the vanilla Oak was rather dominant despite the overripe blackberries (nearly jammy). Only faintest hints of dusty tannins. Very smooth.
June 22, 2019 - Decanted two hours. Vibrant Ruby color surprising for a 12 year old wine. Just a touch of amber on the edge of the tongue. Still tight - cola, leather, cranberry, and oak on the still-withdrawn nose. Once in the mouth, flavors explode with red and black fruits, vanilla, baking spices, tar, and finely-grained tannins. Exceptionally smooth mouthfeel. Long aftertaste. Not my preferred style of wine, but I have to admit this is pretty darn good.
January 31, 2019 - Monster wine that needed a couple hours to come around and smooth out. Blackberries in gobs, tar, some hard leather as well as some dusty tannins.
