November 21, 2021 - Booze is definitely perceptible to the point where I think it is winning over the nose and back of the palate. Garnet in color with a pitch core. Aromas of eucalyptus, mint, black cherry, and sort of a cedary potpourri. In the mouth, the wine if full body, full of fuzzy tannin that heighten with flavors of dried dark fruits, black cherry, oak, and tons of warming spice on the finish. Med + tannin, med-low acid, very mature and ready to drink.

If it weren't for the perceptible alcohol, this would have been stellar.

October 7, 2020 - Decanted for 30 minutes and drank over two hours. In a really nice place.

  • HandmadeHomemade Likes this wine:

April 20, 2020 - Pours an oily dark garnet into the glass, nice bricking on the edges, viscous looking. Closed down aromas of prune, alcohol, and oak initially. Opening up after an hour in the glass (no decant), the wine is much more expressive. Aromas of spent coffee, black cherry, mint/eucalyptus, vanilla, and oak- pretty dense and soft- a little boozy on the finish. Mouth is soft and viscous, silty tannin, lower fruit acid. some stewed fruit, black fruits, and similar taste to the nose. Massive body, and a bit of booze on the finish, again. I'd say it's time for the guys to get up and go- drink up.

February 17, 2020 - Cork disintegrated. Strained into a decanter. Right in its prime. Plum, cassis, saddle leather, and a bit of cigar box. Elegant.

December 6, 2019 - Cork broke again. This bottle had more black fruit but still dominated by tertiary characteristics. It also held up well over 2+ hours.
