December 9, 2016 - I "won" this wine in a wine pull at the Dallas Margarita Ball this year. Had it a few weeks later at a cooking class with Chef Tre Wilcox, paired with a spiced pork loin and jalapeno cheddar grits. I didn't know the menu before pairing, but it held up really well! Tight at the beginning, but developed well over the two hours we drank the wine. Definitely a fruitier, darker pinot than I was expecting, satisfying and spicy. Drink up now, though.

December 20, 2014 - I'm not sure why this one is still around in any quantity. Our favorite wine bar had it by the glass for $11 and we jumped all over it. I really liked the slight savory, meaty flavor and aroma the extra bottle age brings. Darker than typical color for a Pinot. Mature fruit on the nose like crushed dried and roasted red raspberry. Rich and refined, close to, but not quite candied, perfectly ripe and mature cherry mulberry and blueberry fruit. The oak, acid and tannins have all decided to just get along. Slightly burnt blueberry pie filling on the finish.

June 29, 2014 - Spice and flowery on the nose. Strawberry/ cherry palate. Enjoyable easy drinking wine but not to the level of the single vineyards. Better to pay up for those imho.

July 21, 2012 - Took a while to open up but lovely once it had - great weight and balance, a very satisfying Santa Barbara Pinot.

June 1, 2012 - Another solid Sanford Pinot. So consistently outstanding they're underappreciated at this point. And perhaps overpriced. But still, if you can catch them south of $30 they're great.
