December 3, 2023 - I found the wine to be rather subdued. It got better with time in the glass. If you drink now I suggest giving a good decant.

October 21, 2023 - Tasting lunch. First time I tried this and I was impressed. Reminded me of Heitz and Ridge, Lots of cassis and eucalyptus, ripeness here is in check with great freshness. I think this can add a point with more maturity. Best after 2028.

July 8, 2023 - Three-plus hour decant. Dense dark garnet color, full to the edge and bright. Expressive bouquet of red currant & cassis, eucalyptus, star anise, new cedar, clove and pipe tobacco. Sumptuous and mouthfilling on the attack, with cool-toned black fruit, vivid & intense, with integrated secondary notes of fresh violets, melted stone, and the cedar and five notes from the bouquet. Round and expansive across the middle palate, with firm core density yet totally refined and airy at the same time. Layered and seamless, terrific acid balance giving the wine a nice energy, along with broad plush tannins and long zesty black fruit through the finish. Classic profile with terrific verve on top of depth and richness for days, primary with integrated secondary depth and early resolved tannins. In short this has plenty of youth, but the youthful intensity is palpable and it’s in a great place for sure. Wonderful. Drink/hold.

April 29, 2023 - Very dark berried with some vanilla in the background. Nice fresh acidity. Good concentration. Just at the start of its drinking window, at least 10 good years ahead. (IG)

February 26, 2023 - Beautiful nose brimming with bright, ripe, black and blue fruits, spring flowers, cassis, toasty new oak and hot stones. This is youthfully exuberant and in a great place right now! Just starting to reach maturity, this has many years left ahead of it. Full bodied with moderate tannins and very bright acidity, this is understated in the best way, with more black and blue fruits, spices and vanilla-tinged oak. Drink now-2032+ 94

February 11, 2023 - First time trying a Forman Cabernet. The wine was very dark showing no signs of maturity at the rim. A very intense nose dominated by dark fruit and a hint of vanilla. The flavours were very concentrated with dark fruit, cassis and plum. Still very fresh with a persistent, long finish. Not sure if it will improve much from here but very enjoyable right now.

January 3, 2023 - Tuesday Night Double Blind $50+ (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Dark core with thinner rim; chocolate, deep and plush nose, layered, somewhat chalky, leather, some clay, toasted fennel, very savory, dark fruit; delicious; torn between d'Alceo or Red Rock Terrace 2010.

December 29, 2022 - Pretty much ready from pnp, gained some complexity after 1 hr of air but lost a little of the very fruity fresh nose. Perfect oak integration and a fine acidity that’s keeping the wine vibrant and exciting. Good to go but will hold for many years.

June 21, 2022 - Muted nose of cassis, barbecue smoke, and fresh capsicum. Palate shows firm but silky-smooth tannin. Flavours of blackcurrant, rosemary, black pepper, and juniper. Almost as good as the 2013.
