    February 10, 2020 - Violets, red & black fruits, with more dark fruits and red fruits coming through. Very primary.
    Palate- ditto for the palate with medium acid & medium tannins with a fruity finish. Very nice, but needs a few years to reach potential.

    January 24, 2020 - 93. Started out thinking it might be corked, consistent with previous experiences, but within about 3 hours opened to notes of eucalyptus, pine and musk (I know, weird) but seductive. Palate had a sweet core of red fruit with a dry finish. Give er a few more years.

    December 22, 2019 - Always one of my favorite Tuscans. Opened and let breath in the cellar for two and a half hours. A beautiful, complex wine. Served to an eclectic gathering of neighbors with Porchetta from Italy. Wow, a perfect pairing.

    May 11, 2019 - 1 hour decant. Fine sediment, tannins still grippy. Hold for a few more years. So good, will get even better.

    January 23, 2019 - Powerful, intense, truffles and chocolate. Spicy and peppery. Quite good, but wouldn't pay silly money for this. I just don't get it. It's evidently serious and ambitious - but boring.

The Fontadi was far and away one of the best Tuscan wines I have ever had. It was not over the top California style like some Super Tuscans. Balanced, complex, integrated tannins. Incredible and will seek out more. Sorry not more notes but fantastic wine. Silky smooth palette and much more. Oldworldwines note describes it best but so many others make equally salient points.

    May 13, 2018 - What a beautiful wine. Drank this on a golf trip where we tend to glug wine, but this one lasted for two hours as we sat and savoured every mouthful. Of course, we drank it too early - it could do with another 5 years to let the tannins smooth out. Beautiful fruit and spice flavours which just keep changing, and go on forever.
