April 29, 2021 - Boys' Dinner & Cigar (Rajastan Rifles, Peak Galleria, The Peak, Hong Kong): Decanted for 2 hours then rebottled and served 2 hours later. Perfect young cork. Translucent very purple/ black colour. Nose is jammy raspberries, bitchumen, creosote paint, black plums, black asphalt. Very dark chocolate... lovely. Palate is good acidic, lifted freshness, very structured and with graphite linearity, assertive but not aggressive tannins, anthracite, deep black fruit. Very powerful and muscular but quite refined. Good resonance and reverberance in the central cortex on the finish. A work in progress with years ahead of it. Glacial maturing since I last drank it in 2014. Massive sediment in the glass at the end of the night even after the double decanting which confirms my view that it needs another 10 year to reveal its true colours. A real 'find' from a survey of new producers using very old vines that Runny and I indulged in - "the next Grange?" - twelve years ago. Not drank in perfect circumstances, so I may have underpointed this....but still have 3 bottles to contemplate. Will only get better, I think. 92+ for now.

March 21, 2021 - In a very good place...while the fruit is on the darker side, there’s good acidity that still keeps it all together and fresh. Love the mint and leather that compliments the fruit and coffee and melted red licorice notes.

October 17, 2015 - There manages to be an elegance to this wine that I did not entirely expect. Some tannins still around but this is ready to drink, I can't imagine it will become much better over the next year or so until it begins to decline. There were secondary flavors, though I struggle to describe them.
