June 22, 2019 - Dark gold in colour. Nose of orange and barley-sugar. Intensely sweet, with flavours of honey, tropical fruit and toffee, and no evident oxidation. A little bit tired and one-dimensional.

October 2, 2016 - Last bottle... very nice.

July 27, 2016 - Very comparable to 1999,but not so balanced (alcohol) as the previous vintage. Dried fruits, honey and creme brulee in nose and palate. Again like a Yquem from the 70ies, 93. I preferred the 1999 one day before

March 5, 2016 - Dinner with Peter, Susanne, PPJ, Maria-Terese, Thomas - chez moi (Frederiksberg): Grand Vin; honey galore, caramelized fruit, orange peel, good minerality, hefty sweetness, but the length and the balance is great. Keeps going, and will go on, but i is hard to resist now. World class. (#dinner with Peter&Susanne, PPJ etc.)

November 11, 2015 - Divine bouquet - truly knockout. It presents an almost orange color to dark yellow depending on the light. Viscous and rich. Interesting wine but not elegant. For my palate, overly sweet without the needed acidic spine to bring focus and give it structure.

(Klein Constantia Vin de Constance) The 2000 vintage has a deep, burnished, rose-tinged amber hue in the glass. It possesses a very aromatic nose that cries out 'Muscat!', far more so than that bottle I enjoyed more than a decade ago. There are elements suggestive of rose petals, Turkish delight, green apples and oranges perfumed with cinnamon and other spices. The palate is certainly sweet and rich, showing a slightly fat composition in fact (the residual sugar is 141 g/l), a sensation no doubt reinforced by the intense sweetness having only a light grip, and rather moderate acidity for balance. It doesn't have the bright definition I was hoping for. The perfumed character found on the nose comes through here though, giving the wine overall a very pretty and overtly Muscat character. It certainly has a good sense of harmony to it, and it is somewhat redolent of the aged and fortified style of Muscat classically associated with Australia. Ultimately though, I would have preferred a little more backbone and cut to this wine. Nevertheless, a very good wine, and most definitely one worth experiencing. Alcohol 14%.
