January 2, 2022 - The quality is there but still too young for me, next one in +5 years.

October 2, 2021 - 2010 Delas Frères Domaine des Tourettes Hermitage was evolving, spiced and mineral-driven. The developing Hermitage was deep ruby in colour with some fine sediments. Freshly uncorked, it had aromas of blackberry, dark cherry and peppercorn. With three hours of in-bottle aeration, it opened up impressive notes of roasted beef, bay leaf, curry and graphite.

The mouthfeel was dry and full-bodied, with medium level of balanced acidity and rather high level of grainy tannin. There was a considerable weight and minerality on the mid-palate. Flavours of cassis and violet transitioned into molten rock and Pu'er black tea in a long smoky finish. The alcohol level was at 13.5%. The quality and mineral impact were impressive, considering that it was not their top Hermitage cuvée.

The grapes were a blend from three different terroirs, l'Ermite, Le Sabot and Les Bessards. The wine was aged in fifteen to thirty percent new French oak barrels for eighteen month. About 30,000 bottles were produced.

September 27, 2021 - Colour: Slight bricking evident. Licorice-tinged nose. On palate, still quite tannic. Forceful taste of licorice and spices, not particularly fruity initially but opened up gradually after decanting. This is fun to drink on its own and has an interesting character.

September 6, 2021 - Nice but rather non descript. Modern nice black cherry notes and well made but rather bland.

July 13, 2021 - Smooth and well integrated at this point, with developed primary flavors of blackberry and olive. Secondary flavors have not yet emerged. I think this is now firmly into its drinking window with a lot of evolution still to come.
