May 12, 2023 - Explosive popcorn, sesame, butterscotch, honey and white flower notes, but without being over-the-top. It keeps evolving during the night. Wonderful Bourgogne level white.

January 23, 2022 - When PnP, it shows a predominantly reductive nose, and the wine is quite closed.

With hours of aeration, layers of reductive, grapefruit, honeysuckle, orchard fruit and mineral flavours start to unfold gradually. The high acidity is perfectly wrapped by the reductive and fruity flavours. Very serious Bourgogne wine, with potential for further ageing.

December 17, 2019 - Starbright; riveting, dynamic, enticing; laser like precision, pitch perfect; dramatically sweeping. Will age effortlessly.

December 27, 2018 - Opens with an appealing nose or rich orchard fruit with just the right amount of reduction that adds interest without distracting. Moderate density and intensity. Plenty of rich orchard fruit. Not especially complex, but right the top of the Bourgogne Blanc heap, I suspect.

December 27, 2018 - Dinner at Margeaux Brasserie (Chicago, IL): This is good for the level, first off showing the classic reduction qualities (perhaps a hint too much) with its flinty, minerally popcorn notes. The palate is clearly one of lesser density, and while there's plenty of acidity here, it's fairly one-note, and shows a bit dilute on the midpalate. I reckon the acidity's a bit too loud here, in comparison to the other elements.

June 23, 2018 - HDH auction at Spiaggia; 6/22/2018-6/23/2018 (Chicago, IL): Really interesting green tinge colour-wise. The nose is clearly intensely reductive, pretty much to a fault. The palate isn't wholly there -- it's just super lean, coiled up, and tight. A bit more acid than I want -- seems like it's just too taut for my palate. It did relax a little bit with air, but it's just a really dense and powerful chardonnay. A little under the bottom for me (as opposed to over the top) -- needs time.

December 13, 2015 - Leiden Dinner at home: My last of 6 bottles. Lovely nose and taste, super balanced combination of fruit, raciness, acidity. Energetic.

October 24, 2012 - Just got the bottles delivered this afternoon, couldn't resist opening one. This is wonderfull. Very expressive nose, citrus, orange, minerals. Taste concentrated, similar tones with fresh acidiity. Finish limited length. Great stuff for a normal white Burgundy. Shall I open a Meursault soon or wait?
