Community Tasting Notes 12

  • ONEFIVE Likes this wine:

December 25, 2023 - Classic Gevrey nose of iron, apple, dried cranberry, cherry, and a bit of spice.
On the palate, it’s silky with med body, med+ acid, and med- tannin. This is great, though quite vibrant, at the moment. Plenty of time left. Drink now and over the next 10 years or so.

November 25, 2023 - Delicious even at this young age. Opened the bottle and and drank over two hours. Dark crimson, nose dominated initially by stone, black fruit, some earth, spice and perfume. With time opens up to cool fat dark berries. On the palate similar with iron and blood earlier replaced with that fat dark red and black fruit. Medium bodied, finishes long with tannins resolving and refined.

December 6, 2021 - Perfect example of Gevrey Chambertin. Aromas of rose petals, spice, cranberry, apple skin and red cherry with earthy iron and wet stone elements.
Medium body with moderate acidity and soft tannin. The finish is slightly tart but it doesn’t take away from the experience. It’s stunning now. Why wait? Perhaps more nuance in time…

December 14, 2020 - Floral nose, refined, faint earth, cool fruit. I think my June note is pretty accurate. I've been sleeping on these I guess. Both a pretty / elegant and classic example of Gevry. Easy going, clearly very approachable young.
