November 21, 2020 - Caramel-forward, with some interesting savory notes. Not too much fruit remaining. An interesting one to try for sure.
February 15, 2016 - In a wonderful place, still plenty of fruit but a wonderful place and probably not getting better.
December 15, 2013 - This initially had something off-putting that blew off by day two. Aromas of tobacco, earth, spice and plums. The palate shows a bit of funk along with forest floor, plum and spice. Integrated medium tannins/acidity. Drink now or over the next few years.
December 17, 2012 - very tannic needs two three hour decant ....berries chocolate med legs not as good as i thought it would be...good price maybe a little better tomorrow
December 15, 2012 - A nose of funk and earth, dark garnet in color. A medium bodied red, with plum, cherry, earthy funk and spice. Did long decant to try and get rid of smell but for me was too Old World.
October 22, 2012 - Takes about two hours to open up. Slightly earthy aromas of dark berry and forest floor. Medium to full body. Dry mouthfeel that compliments food well. Well balanced acidity.
April 15, 2012 - Ecola nails this one spot on. Delicious.
March 22, 2012 - Those who like to leave wine open a couple days will like the oxidative characteristics. Me- not so much. It is possible that this was an off bottle. Fill was low neck which is a little extreme at this age.
March 16, 2012 - Slightly off at 1st which quickly blows off. Nice floral & fruit nose. Dark fruit (plum, blueberry), nice acidity, tanins, slight floral element, nice finish. Wouldn't be surprised if this developed with more time. Really enjoyable.
February 15, 2012 - Beautiful aromas of red flowers, red berries, and a little vanilla bean. Tightly packed in flavors of espresso, tobacco, and dark fruit on the palate. A little minerality sneeks in on the finish. Old world food wine all the way.
