January 6, 2024 - Plummy nose with dried prunes and ripe figs. Old leather, earthy spices and seasoned cedar wood complete the impression. Palate echoed the nose. Medium-bodied. Tannins are still prominent with the aromatics taking a back seat for now. Finish is clean but chewy. Need more time for the tannins to fully integrate into the structure if the fruits hold.

September 9, 2023 - Slightly tighter than recent bottles. Nonetheless similarly plush, sensuous, balanced.

September 1, 2023 - It is out of my price range, but if you have the coin or friends with the bank, if you are seeking a Petrus with some age that is really hitting all the right notes, 1998 is the wine to buy. The wine is loaded from start to finish with chocolate-coated cherries, truffles, flowers, plums, smoke, touches of blue fruits, and a mild touch of menthol. Full-bodied, rich, opulent, silky, and fresh, the wine is polished, refined, intense, and palate-coating with purity and length. Drink from 2023-2050.

May 23, 2023 - Clean, black fruit aromatics with polished palate veering toward red fruit. Give it more time though.

January 13, 2023 - Opulent, hedonistic wine. Black fruit and spice aromatics. Effortless velvet texture with astounding purity and length.

(Pétrus) Black red color with cherry meniscus; beautiful, deep, coffee, tar nose; rich, coffee, espresso, tart cherry and cassis palate, tight yet, but lovely; very long finish
