January 1, 2022 - Superb CDP, peak drinking window, may continue to develop in complexity over the next few years and should stay in its prime till at least 2026-2027 IMO. Served over NYE dinner (W/ Leg of Lamb), alongside '07 Pegau and a surprise '86 Gruaud Larose which I will get to in a separate review.

Opened 60 minutes before dinner (no decant) Initial nose - slightly muted notes of blackberry, strawberry, fig jam, leather. Then after 30 minutes in the glass opened up to a beautiful bouquet with added notes of game. No prune-like characteristics (as was suggested in other reviews).

Mouth - Opulent, round, perfectly integrated. Rich layers of dark fruit, cherries, blackberry. No jaminess in the mouth (just nose) and displaying a fantastic, velvety feel with a long and complex finish that paired wonderfully with the lamb.

A superb effort, and while not quite up there with the absolute jaw dropping greats of the region, it's still a wonderful, balanced and delicious CDP meriting a strong 92+ in my book...

    Good stuff

May 31, 2020 - Drank another....some where between the two...somewhat prune centric on aroma and flavor but not as bad as first bottle...
