November 30, 2020 - It opens with a nose of cherry bubble gum and tar. Fruit driven on the palate with sweet blue and back fruit and notes of anise, spice and tar. Juicy acidity, and slightly puckery tannins. Well integrated but I think it is on the front side of the drinking window. I don't see why this wouldn't last another 5-7 years.

March 27, 2020 - Short decant. This is in a great place. Much better than a couple of Booker ‘07 I had at the same age. Good concentration and harmonious balance of juicy acidity and fine dusty tannin. Blue fruit and complex savor with good length and fully integrated classy wood. Mouthfeel carries any heat successfully.

June 22, 2019 - 4th Saturday group uptown tasting (M&R's): Double blind. Starts out showing a ton of alcoholic heat, eventually taming that and showing black fruit and peppery spice. There's a nice floral quality too. Medium tannins. Flavors of pepper and candied black fruits, and that works really well here. Guessed syrah.

January 23, 2019 - Wow, what a wonderful journey down a superb sensory experience!! The wine was great from the open (we decanted it for 30 minutes). Lots of cherry, dark fruit and a "hint" of chocolate on the palate. The finish was satin-like and the back palate finish was long and lingering. Just magnificent!!

October 16, 2018 - Quite a pretty, balanced and complex Syrah blend, especially since it hails from Paso Robles, where bigger is typically better.
