October 23, 2022 - Decanted for 4 hours before serving. It is very opulent on nose. Palate is so vibrant and round with plenty of fresh red and dark currants. It has a mouthcoating and super long finish. Best wine among 90 Petrus and 90 Lafleur.

December 10, 2021 - Even more opulent and sensuous since I last tasted it, the wine is clearly flashy, flamboyant, and showy with its textures and profile of mocha, orange peel, slice box, cocoa, black cherry and plum. The finish holds on for over 60 seconds which is a good thing, as you want as much of this supple, sexy wine as possible.

October 28, 2021 - The last wine (served double blind) was immediately compelling and took no coaxing to cast its seductive spell. The ruby color seemed mature and lightly tinted like a Pinot or Nebbiolo. I had the hardest time guessing this one, but it did seem like a Right Bank wine given it’s exotic flair of dried flowers, mulling spices, slightly savory and loamy notes, and sweet lifted scents of wintergreen and cinnamon. Satin textured, complex, effortless and elegant, a complete wine from start to finish. I am not sure what I thought a Le Pin would be like, especially from the famous 1990 vintage, but this was more feminine and sensuous than I expected. The amazing thing was this wine had all of the hallmarks of a fully mature claret while retaining the fruit and thrust of a young wine. A transcendent experience, a great emotion. A first 100 point wine.

September 18, 2021 - Lifted, slightly reductive, somewhat floral aromatics. Elegant palate, every hair in place.

March 3, 2021 - Superbly perfumed nose, very complex. Palette full bodied, good intensity. Good acidity.

(Le Pin) I have not even seen a bottle of this till my ex-boss brought it to dinner at Tocqueville. This actually lived up to its reputation as some crazy sexy juice. There was an herbal aspect to it but for my palate it added complexity. Wonderful concentration and purity. Dazzling complexity and a raging, rocking finish that was ...wait.......yes....I timed it...45 seconds. How about that!
