April 15, 2019 - Great ripe red cherry and soft earth. Acidity is holding well to keep this lively. Long finish, very food friendly.

April 18, 2018 - My last bottle and unfortunately a disappointment.
Aerated with a Vinturi and left to breathe in decanter for about an hour.
    Very muted nose.
Drying tannins dominate with only a slight essence of dark berry fruits on the palate.
The finish is medium with sour cherry notes.
This last of 3 bottles appears to have lost its fruit......rated 80 since it's definitely still drinkable but a far cry from the 92 rated previous bottles I had in 2013 which had fantastic fruit. Drink up now.

January 30, 2018 - Leaves, mint, herbs, and cherries. Surprisingly tannic initially. Fruit is secondary right now, and this is a fantastic wine in a great spot in its life.

August 28, 2017 - This is a rock-solid Tuscan blend that opens quickly and finishes long. It's not in the class of Tignanello and up of course, but when you're looking for an Italian wine to share with friends, some of who may be novice wine drinkers, this offers the perfect option from a price point and payload perspective. My 2007 aged well in 10 years and still had some decent fruit in its taste profile. Happy to snag a few more bottles.

February 11, 2017 - Continues to impress. Chalk full of power and elegance, but with a twist of Tuscan terroir. One of my favorite wines under $100.

December 31, 2016 - Earthy and dank initially, with black raspberry, menthol, dried leaves and cranberry on the nose. As it opens, the nose transforms, revealing a beautiful layer of cut flowers. Black currant and cassis dominate the palate, with chocolate, blackberry jam and copious amounts of crushed stone and pencil shavings on the finish. Beautifully balanced and distinctively Italian. Gorgeous!

September 17, 2016 - Brett, leaves, earth, black cherries. Lots of acidity, medium tannin, quite tasty. Some black pepper on the finish.

August 26, 2016 - Dried dark fruit in old world way, nothing in your face, nothing overripe for sure, dusty, earthy, prominent acid and tannins fine to medium. Really enjoyed the unique petit Verdot based blend with cab franc and cab Sauv as supporting cast members. Old worldly with new worldly flair. Paid $22.

Turned pretty acidic after open 2 hrs. Surprised it didn't hold it up better. Would I buy again? Maybe.

June 28, 2016 - I think this is really coming into it's drinking window now. The brett, although still masculinely assertive, like a polished salesman's introductory handshake, is still a major component though it is coming into a nice dance with the black fruit and leathery dusty components. Insane QPR, and I, like everyone else here wishes he had more. Puts to shame a good many Brunelli of the vintage.
