December 11, 2022 - 1/1, excellent cork.
Pale/medium garnet core. wide pale mahogany rim.
Nose is fragrant with strawberry fruit, florals, spice, just the odd slightly incongruous whiff of cigarette ash. Medium bodied, elegant, strawberry fruit, florals, spice - soft, caressing tannins on mid-palate, fresh acidity, expands nicely into a good length finish with liquorice notes and a tickle of fine tannion at the tail end. Excellent and drinking well. (£60 from TWS April 2005). -

November 19, 2022 - Others have complained of a lack of freshness in this wine these days but this one was very fresh and pretty with just a hint of secondary notes coming in. Still has some power but great balance and harmony. A really great example of this wine.

September 19, 2022 - Very similar experience with Burg Al. It is my first 02 Cathiard Malconsorts. The fruit is a bit pruney. For a 02, it clearly lacks freshness. Not sure if its an advanced bottle or its fully mature.
