March 11, 2023 - This wine is in a great place right now. Everything is working together and drinking well. Might have another year in bottle before decline, but we’ll made wine.
February 19, 2023 - Boy, if this isn’t at peak it’s doggone close. Blackberry , cassis, vanilla, tobacco, medium body. Really good.
June 25, 2022 - Paired with A5 ribeye and Australian wagyu strip. Outstanding bottle in a great place. I’m happy to have one left. I thoroughly enjoyed, but I was probably more tuned into the meat,
December 24, 2021 - Drinking quite well right now, drink or hold depends on personal preference. Very secondary right now, will live on for a good while.
September 26, 2021 - Delicious wine with polish and finesse.
December 31, 2020 - Popped for New Year's Eve. A proper goodbye to a horrible year. This wine was absolutely singing all night long! Soft and velvety mouthfeel, intense black cherry and cassis fruit with notes of violets and espresso. Finish is all dark chocolate and goes on for 30 seconds or more. This is in a great spot right now, and has many more years ahead of it. Drink now - 2029.
June 2, 2020 - Soft and creamy with dark fruits and herbs. The Cab has really mellowed out, sweet tannins. Creme de cassis, dark cherry, oak and herb de Provence. Didn't notice the high alcohol at all.
January 25, 2020 - Dog-sitting Compass and MC2 had this bottle on their counter for me to try. It is in a really good spot. 70% Cab and 30% Merlot. The merlot softens the wine nicely, making it almost velvety. Ample fruit that masks the 15% ABV. Deliciously balanced.
