December 11, 2023 - OMG #105 (Ann Arbor, MI): Quite polished, with structure suggesting this is just beginning to enter its drinking window.

March 7, 2020 - Gourmetklubbens fyrtiofemte middag: Tema Havets läckerheter (Södermalm, Stockholm (P+A)): Deep red colour with a mature nose showing stables, hints of dill and a touch of oak. Soft tannins on the palate with drying fruit on the finish. Good, but there’s something missing.

January 31, 2020 - Retaining great color, little bricking. Nose wild strawberries, raspberries, hints of oak/dill still, brambly, leather, anise. Palate more mature, substantial secondary leather notes, cocoa, reasonably good acid, well integrated. Long finish.

April 20, 2019 - 206 NOK. Tydelig moden. Rognebær og gammel sofa, svak syre. Grei fylde. Litt over the topp.

February 23, 2017 - Rioja Montecillo in Magum Tasting (Bodega Santa Cecilia - Madrid): Mixture of Tempranillo with Mazuelo and Graciano. French oak at 80%
On the nose is floral, with notes of bitumen, burnt caramel, cologne, graphite and some pastry.
A Rioja from 01 that without being extraordinary, saves the tasting. Nevertheless in my very modest opinion, the winery should be fine-tuned in the mouth unless they really want to make that note astringent the characteristic of the house.
It has acidity, is not great but it is graciano's contribution.
It has life ahead but within many years do not expect anything better than what the vintage of the 70 offered on the nose. With respect to the mouth, here seems to be greater guarantees. Hope so.

Food Pairing

Community Recommendations

Excellent with all kinds of meat, fillet of lamb, it particularly highlights finer dishes made with big game, such as venison. It also pairs exquisitely with any dish made with strong cheeses or with very aromatic sauces.
