December 24, 2018 - I was very hopeful when I first opened this as it had been disgorged back in September 2012; unfortunately, I soon realized that this was a carbon copy from my April 2014 experience: lots of upfront creamy mouse and froth, and tiny bubbles, which abated within 30 minutes of being poured. Nice aromatics; however, the flavors reflected simple orchard fruits and little complexity.
June 25, 2017 - Hosting LI Blind 2017 edition (Jewel Restaurant Melville): Sweet, oaky but with yeasty character. No one thought it was champagne. Not without pleasure but rather simple. Seemed tired.
December 24, 2016 - A modest, pleasant and eminently drinkable Champagne.
December 16, 2016 - Mineral on the nose and palate add some nice complexity to this balanced, crisp NV champagne which tends toward lean without being austere.
August 9, 2016 - Dinner with the Post guys (Chez Kimelman): Pretty good inexpensive NV Champagne.
April 20, 2014 - Simple and straight forward. Good find at $30. My biggest criticism is the effervescence was gone after about 30 minutes in the glass.
December 31, 2013 - My third bottle, just as consistent as ever. Full of flavor and freshness, this impressed some casual drinkers on New Year's Eve.
September 27, 2013 - So brisk and tangy. I like the honeysuckle, green apple and buttered biscuit notes. Crisp, lots of minerals. I sabered this bottle while camping on the beach with good friends, now that's a good pairing.
June 1, 2013 - In Search of Wedding Wines (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): A solid non-vintage Champagne. Aromas of crisp yellow apple, southern biscuits, butter and limestone. Juicy apple and pear on the palate, but the crisp acid cuts through. Overall, a zippy, mineral-driven wine that's tasty and easy to drink.
June 17, 2012 - Good pale straw coloring when poured; Nice structure, flavors of straw, vanilla, light dough, and a hint of citrus. A bit simple, but a nice every day champagne.
