Community Tasting Notes 7

February 13, 2021 - 2009 Domaine Serene Grace Vineyard has high toned red cherry fruit, earth, grilled herbs, and smokey meats. Rich and concentrated. Given the vintage, I would begin to drink these up if you have any left in the cellar.

August 26, 2015 - Well, despite some of the comments, I think that this is a very good wine. Smooth from front to finish, nice fruity nose. Very good.

  • Mild Plaid Likes this wine: 95 points

April 5, 2015 - [Initial tasting at a cool cellar temp] Strong nose of blackberries, brambles, and spice; initial strong earth/forest floor aromas blew off quickly. Rich palate of mixed red and black berries and some baking spice, with a lingering, earthy, finish. Tannins are limited (or extremely well integrated); acidity is mild.

[45 minutes later] Nose is now earth and spice; palate is layers of earth/forest floor, berries, and baking spice. Tannins still absent, but acid is much more present. Finish is still long, but has added some fruit to the earlier earth.

Much improved by coming up in temp slightly; score above reflects the warmer tasting note.

December 22, 2014 - Pnp, deep ruby with nose of ripe strawberry. Typical US Pinot, sweet and bit creamy, fresh fruit, tannin is slightly grippy finish is medium. Acidity being low made this wine less interesting. One dimensional as contrast to the back label saying complex and concentrated.

January 30, 2014 - Well, this is a great wine. Smooth and tasty. Long finish. I wish I had bought more.
