March 31, 2016 - Still bright and luscious, with fine texture and winsome fruit. What it's not is heavy or overbearing. Very nice.
March 14, 2016 - Note: I use a rating scale for which 85 represents a very good wine.
A good bottle, although not that impressive. Opened a bit after some decanting, but it never achieved he smoothness that I thought/hoped it might. Pretty flat on day 2.
August 31, 2015 - Very nice bottle. Deep red garnet. Some initial wet cardboard aromas which soon dissipated to be replaced by deep fruity and woodsy notes. Rich texture, but not ponderously heavy. Good acid bite, integrated tannins. Developed very nicely in the glass.
July 30, 2015 - Showing great at this stage. Deep pitched fruit balanced by smoke and mineral. Lovely with lamb.
March 8, 2014 - I really enjoyed this bottle. Maybe a little more sweet than I prefer, but I would buy it again for $12
August 10, 2013 - Great wine with a light summer dinner. Opened for a couple of hours before drinking. Usually half a bottle with dinner, tonight full bottle sipping before dinner and then with dinner. Simple dinner of some cheeses with cherry sausauge -- very good.
April 24, 2013 - Moderately aromatic somewhat old-world nose of earth and dark fruit. Opens with concentrated dark fruit and spice box. Medium to heavy body and medium length with spicy, slightly hot finish. Well-integrate acid gives this wine a pleasant tang. Some complexity and enough fruit and tannin to last another year or two, though not likely to improve much from this point.
January 12, 2013 - I still like this wine, but I didn't like this as much as the first 2 bottles
November 14, 2012 - a "no complaints" wine and also not a WOW factor; enjoyed with meatballs first night, and burger with fixins second night.
November 11, 2012 - I drank a bottle of this a few months ago. I really like it. Drank with a quesadilla last night and a pizza tonight. Excellent! It's also nice without food.
