December 10, 2023 - Another great 2008 Barolo. Wonderful, highly aromatic nose of farmyard, cinnamon spice. Beautiful palate, elegant, ripe, oak spice. Love it.

December 1, 2022 - In a wonderful drinking spot, with a rich substance and plenty of nuance. The 2008 has a remarkable volume and seems to be perhaps a bit darker and bolder than other vintages, which provides a good resonance here. Ripe red plum, crushed blueberries, sweet spices, cola, blood orange and autumnal foliage mingle between mellow tannins and soft fibers. A fairly enticing Barolo with the typical 2008 deliciousness.

October 21, 2022 - During a Barolo/Piedmont tasting lunch, not blind. Sexy and modern nose here with cola aromas (cinnamon, cherry), ripe with dired fruit. Hard to dislike, even if the purits may nit pick here. Will do well with a broader crowd.

October 15, 2022 - This is open for business and peak-drinking. Amazingly seductive, perfumed and aromatic, with notes of cola, sweet cherries, cinnamon, plum, spices, some flowery notes, violets, deep dark red cherries. Superb freshness with high acidity, medium-high tannin, medium-full body with very good persistence. Long finish. A very delicious, layered and intense Bricco Fiasco that is combining the beautiful style of the winery with the great character of the vintage. I love it. It‘s just a small step down in complexity from some of the best wines in the line-up.

July 8, 2021 - The 2008's from Azelia are now fully mature but require time in decanter to blow off some considerable earthy funk. After sufficient time, this has a huge aroma filled with sous-bois, rosemary, red cherry, oak and cola. The palate is medium-bodied with great structure still. Bright acids and tannin to stand up to a ribeye drizzled in olive oil. On the palate there is roasted meat stuffed with black cherries and thyme, blood orange, oak, composted pine needles and spice. Start pulling bottles, but expect a long decant. Drink now-2026+ 94
