September 4, 2022 - Auction purchase, past prime but decent.
V - Clear, deep garnet with significant meniscus.
Nose and Palette were remarkably similar. Fruit was black raspberry and black cherry. Finish was full-on asphalt. Inbetween there was significant licorice and hints of both tomato leaf and coffee.
Dry, med+ body, med+ acid, fine/med tannins. Med+ length with medium complexity - as the asphalt just dominated, particularly the longer it was open.
October 29, 2021 - This was a little thinner than most CDPs I've enjoyed;
a decent bottle although underwhelming for the 2010 vintage
January 20, 2019 - Hazy remembrance of a wine drank 2 nights ago. This has developed some great meaty secondary notes now. Dark berry, smoked meat, iron and blood nose. Delicious balanced long earthy flavours and finish.
November 4, 2017 - Still going strong
May 18, 2017 - Clear light red. Smoky meaty red fruit nose. Intense but not ripe. Delicious cherry and pepper flavors. Rich dry tannic finish.
September 2, 2015 - Shining and bright ruby color, medium body, spicy multi-level nose with menthol, wood, earth and a bit of dark berries; in the mouse – very fragrant, spicy, nice acidity and tasty well integrated tannin with long and dry finish. Very good wine and probably will be even better in couple of years. Will definitely open another bottle one year from now.
November 14, 2014 - Fantastically fragrant and floral with aromas of rose, lavender, kinmokusei, roasted herbs, boysenberry, woodland strawberry, orange peal, raisin, salami, coffee and spice. Medium to full bodied with high acid, well judged tannin, minty and creamy notes, finishes fresh and dry. The alcohol is just a touch too strong for my taste. Nice from the get go but seemed to get dryer and more tannnic over three hours. Despite the alcohol this is extremely mineral and fresh. Great intensity but not over the top or sweet. A pinot lovers CdP?
October 16, 2014 - Decent, nothing special, not much complexity. Let it breathe - better after a few hours open.
September 22, 2014 - Need more cellar time. Started to show some signs of openness only after 2-3 hours of decanting
