September 18, 2023 - Entering its drinking window. Blackberry and black cherry fruit on the nose with a fine bosky note. Tannins are knitting and some tertiary character is beginning to emerge. Nice sousbois lurking in the background. Really pretty and shone with cheese plate. Re-buy? In a heartbeat.

March 25, 2023 - Took a couple hours to come together but drinking well. Blackberry and black cherry notes, finishing with herbs, anise and a bit of menthol. A little flat in the mid palate but an enjoyable drink.

December 19, 2022 - This has entered its drinking window. Rich, robust, with nice spice elements. Good acidity, excellent with food. Superb QPR

February 14, 2022 - This was really nice - wild spice, some cherry fruit flavors, hints of smoke with a long smooth finish. Well-balanced with crisp acidity that holds it all together.

January 20, 2022 - 2010 Pavelot 1er Cru: Aux Guettes vs Aux Gravains: Two very good, wines. This--the Aux Gravains--has a beautiful bouquet and is a little riper, wilder, spicier, more saline, and more structured; it's not as well balanced (as the Guettes) but offers more of its own presence and personality, especially with time in the decanter.

The Aux Guettes has a nice austerity and makes a great dinner wine if you're looking for something cleansing and classic; elements well integrated.

Each wine finishes short though the Gravains offers a bit more on the tail. Each undoubtedly has four+ years of continued great drinking ahead -2025.
