April 7, 2024 - This wine is in a prime spot and could comfortably age another 3-5 years. It boasts a rustic and savory character, with an elegant profile of smoky red fruit and tar. Initially lean on the palate, it gradually reveals plenty of firm tannins. It took about 30 minutes or so to fully open up, so I'd recommend a thorough decanting. Overall, it's delicious and precisely what I was hoping for from this wine.

December 20, 2023 - Slightly weightier than last time out last year, starting out with a meaty (almost aged Syrah-like) nose, relaxing to paintbox, dried cranberries and roses.
The palate is really interesting - this has been a lightweight, savoury red-fruited affair for the previous 4 bottles of the case, but whilst it retains the ‘paintbox’ aspect with high acidity, the fruits are slightly darker with a vegetal (not really beetroot, but in that neighbourhood) profile. Acidic cherries on the finish.
At 15 this is still kicking on, and is worthy of further cellar time. Superb winemaking from Marcarini (I should add - again). -

April 11, 2023 - La Morra survey (The Quality Chop House): Clean, fresh and weightless on the nose. Ripe, pretty and silky on the palate, with red fruit and a tempting herbal seasoning. Not a wow wine, but a relief after the two Voerzios!

April 11, 2023 - La Morra Barolo's at QCH (Quality Chop House): Showing well with red fruit, pomegranate and some cough syrup.
On the palate has sapid but crunchy red fruit - crisp and showing some La Serra elegance but upside ahead as tannins resolve. -

April 11, 2023 - Rich, dark fruit with caramel notes. Good persistence and held up well throughout the evening. My 4th favourite.
