October 4, 2021 - Decanted 12 hours prior to consumption and the collective reaction was it was delicious!
October 20, 2019 - dark and dense, berries on the nose.
after decanting 1,5 hours it still was not ready and tasted strong and alcoholic.
maybe needs some more years
November 4, 2018 - 3rd bottle we tried of this and the additional time as noted below made all the difference. Not much to add to the note below. Quite a modern style however which I found appealing. A touch of not unpleasant greenness almost mint.
April 9, 2018 - this bottle now really showed the difference, if you have time to wait, until the wine can show its real potential.
opened and let it get air for more than 1 hour.
great dark view in the glass and very dense.
smell is fruity and strong, but not stringent.
on the palate it shows strength, fruit, some chocolate and cacao, some cherry as well.
long finish.
I really like this wine and will enjoy the remaining ones over the next 5-10 years. this wine has potential!
October 15, 2015 - Full of flavor, round, full body, great palate. Opened 2 hours before we drank and that helped a lot
December 5, 2014 - This Time I couldn't get this wine to appeal.
It had high alcohol and lots of tannins but wasn't smooth enough to be a real good wine. Will keep the remaining bottles for some more years to see how they evolve.
March 21, 2013 - San Vicente Vertical Tasting introduced by Marcos Eguren (Bodega Santa Cecilia - Madrid): Short and unpleasant
Closed on the nose. Woody. Maybe more floral with time
Flooby palate anyway.
Corto y desagradable
Cerrado en nariz. Amaderada. Quizás más floral con algo de tiempo.
Boca gordita de todas formas.
July 23, 2012 - Black with a deep ruby rim. This may be too young to taste at this point without serious decanting (had at a restaurant, without decant), but a nose that's dominated by toasted oak, with a slight hint of black fruit in the background. Medium to full on the palate with good presence, soft tannins, but the oak again is at the forefront.
