Very dark; mature red meaty red fruit nose; rich Syrah, red plum; very good mouthfeel; some persistence. Delicious! Glad I have one more and could handle more; this should last for a while longer. Stored horizontally in a cool, dark basement since purchase.   February 25, 2013 - Dark ruby-garnet. Spicy oak, crushed raspberry, and earth nose. Medium bodied, tart cherries, loads of black pepper, woody tannins, a bit of tar, and a short to medium finish. Was best on the first night, but overall I liked it.

  November 15, 2012 - - Violet color with medium forming legs and aromas of strawberry jam, rose, medicinal and dusty. It's overly acidic and has flavours of vanilla, dusty, black currant and alcohol with a medium/full body. Narrow texture with a medium finish - Not bad wine, drank it with pork chops and roasted brussel sprouts, kept drinking after dinner was over and then noticed more alcohol and chemical favors.

  July 16, 2012 - I could not finish even a glass of the 299. Let's just say, not a match with what I'm looking for in a syrah. Glad I only purchased a single bottle and glad I didn't pay much for the one bottle.
