Community Tasting Notes 4

March 8, 2018 - This had little to offer other than some Ribena flavours and had almost no finish. Definitely way past it's best.

August 9, 2013 - Ruby with some bricking. The fruit is mostly in the red spectrum and starting to show its age (sweet and sour strawberry, cherry, rhubarb), but I'm also getting a darker touch of plum, some dried herbs, cinnamon and vanilla oak. Acidity is good and the tannins are fully resolved, leaving behind a silky, yet concentrated wine. Although relatively restrained in style, this is clearly from the new world. Perhaps showing a touch of heat. Screw cap, 14% alc. Drink now.

October 7, 2011 - Drink Danny's wine night (Crown Wine Cellars, Hong Kong): Wild strawberries. Mellowed palate. Little smokey finish.

May 14, 2010 - A lovely bouquet of strawberries, red cherry and rose petal combined with a hint of mustiness. Although there is great concentration and power on the palate, this pinot remains light and dainty on its feet. Not shy of acid and tannins are still quite tight - I think this wine still has at least five good years of life still in it. A very impressive wine.
