October 23, 2017 - Too much spice and oak. A winery gymnastics wine. Short length and bitter finish.

January 21, 2017 - Starting to get past its prime. Don't decant it too heavily, or you'll lose all the remaining fruit notes.

September 2, 2014 - a really nice wine...lot of fruit in a good way (almost fruit bomb-y) and sweet, very accessible...great texture, soft felt and crayon/paper mache....layers of it. flavor profile--predominantly cherry and rhubarb, with some plum and hints of raspberry/strawberry. very playful too. texture reminiscent of the domaine tempier bandols i recently reviewed.

July 28, 2014 - P&P. Sitting on the veranda long after sunset looking out over the lake, watching the stars, so color not noted. Probably should have been decanted because the nose was not giving up much, save some dark plummy fruit, potting soil, and high grade chocolate. After much swirling, some funky barnyard and meaty notes emerged. On the palate we have beautiful spades of rich earth and dark chocolate with strong undercurrents of red cherries and black plums, along with fine French oak. Medium acidity, and medium-plus tannins that are very fine but also youthful at this stage. Overall a well made blend, very enjoyable regardless of its youth, and quite unique among the dozen wines we consumed the last two days. Too expensive to talk about value, but certainly a beautiful and memorable label. Hats off to Heidi.

August 13, 2013 - Opened last night, gassed and put away and finished tonight. No chance for a decent air time, so notes are 2nd nite, wow. A really nice wine, barnyard morning fresh with dark, juicy fruits that match the color, long legs and long finish (still salivating). Bright comes to mind on the taste, medium full body with silky but noticeable tannins, hints of black pepper, nutmeg. Full body - fun wine. Only bought 2 bottles '09 to "try"; I'll be ordering more when the '10's come available - excellent wine for the money.
