November 20, 2022 - From 1.5L. Prior bottle (750ml) was 16 months ago and this bottle was a clear step above it and in keeping with my original bottle from 2 years ago. Red berries, black and red cherry, earth and spices on a very pretty nose. Medium bodied with red cherry and red berries upfront, moving to black cherry and blackberry through the middle. Mid-body shows excellent depth, while preserving outstanding clarity of fruit. Fine grained tannins, earth and light spices on the backside and finish. Mid-body and into the backside is where this wine really shines: silky and elegant fruit with both complexity and depth. As compared to my immediately prior bottle, this bottle showed noticeably better definition while preserving the sense of balance. Another clear example to me that wine ages more slowly in 1.5L as compared to 750mls. In this format and based on these notes should be able to maintain this level over the next 12-18 months, but there's no reason to delay.

July 18, 2021 - Prior bottle was eight months ago and while my notes were generally quite similar, overall, the wine has taken a small step backwards. Black cherry, black raspberry and spice notes on the nose. Medium bodied with generally the same fruit profile of red cherry and red berries upfront, adding black cherry through the middle and some blackberry notes towards the back. Mid-body is very rounded and open with soft fruit notes and good integration. Light spice notes and integrated tannins through the finish. While the wine has held up well, the structural notes have continued to integrate, so the wine overall feels a bit softer, has lost some of nuances it showed previously and didn't come off with the same definition. That said, it still shows quite well, just a small step down from the prior heights and in comparison to the wine that it was drunk alongside (2013 Antica Terra Ceras). I would drink this over the next year to enjoy it at its currently high level.

November 21, 2020 - Black cherry and black raspberry notes on the nose. Slightly above medium bodied (14.5% ABV) with red cherry and red berry notes upfront. Gains depth through the middle and adds some black cherry and blackberry notes. Integrated tannins, light spices and balanced acidity on the backside. What made this wine special was the balance between fruit and structure throughout, the integration between the mid-body and finish and the nuance and complexity show through the middle. The fruit shows good definition and in an elegant style that showcases the wine's impressive overall harmony. Drinking very well now and I wouldn't wait too long, given where the fruit and structure are today (at a highpoint of balance). I'll save my last bottle for June/July 2021.

April 24, 2019 - In a nice spot now. Garnet with black and blue fruit scents. Very aromatic. Long and lingering. Tastes young at 9 years of age.
