Community Tasting Notes 10

June 22, 2014 - old pinot from a half bottle. very nice elegant style. fairly burgundian with plenty of fruit still. heat has resolved itself completely and if there's a complaint it's that this is a little thinner in the mid palate than id like at this age.

drink up and let the air hit it a bit.

December 3, 2011 - A bit warm and chewy, not as refined as others I have had from them but still loaded with delicious red fruits, some nice calcaire/earth notes in the background and a long, dense finish.

October 9, 2010 - Upon open, too much heat and spice. Came across as hot like many 03s and probably the worst vintage of Cristom I've had along with 2006. But air definitely helped and it simmered down and the heat dissipated. Became smoother and more complete. Still not jammy or overextracted, but definitely from a warmer vintage. Upon open - 87. After some air, more like 89-90.

Night 2: Never quite made it to 90 for me.

November 26, 2009 - Decanted this wine for about 4 hours before serving with Thanksgiving dinner. Typical Pinot flavors, earthy, green bell pepper with great structure and complexity. It was a hit at Thanksgiving. I am glad that I held this wine until now given the comments of the folks who drank this wine a couple of years ago.

October 4, 2008 - again a lot of damp earth and mushrooms. I think this is ready to drink now, a very nice pinot but lacking a bit of the depth that some others in the region have
