January 26, 2024 - This one smoked. The color was so intact, so lively, popcorn, nutty, dynamic lemon and acidity with floral backdrop, immense length. Wow.

November 16, 2023 - Drank even better than last time. Needed about 30 minutes to fully wake up. Dynamic and nutty, deep, but still great acidity and tension. Lovely mature Burg.

October 12, 2023 - Delicious - especially given its age. Complete, late-peak, but still so delicious and so Corton Charlemagne. Yum!

December 24, 2020 - Peaches, lemon zest, licorice; smooth, rich, full, fruitful, almost a mild effervescence; somewhat usual but very good indeed

January 24, 2020 - Opened 1-2 hours before. At first nose and palate a little gone over, as if slightly madeirised. But after allowing it to breathe, it came out beautifully. Full, ripe, very complex and long. However, I think this bottle was at its peak. I doubt whether it would have kept much longer.

May 30, 2017 - Dinner at The Bristol (Chicago, IL): Underneath a thick blanket of TCA was a 1996 Jadot white Burgundy that was not premoxed. Just think about that for a minute.

December 31, 2016 - From a bottle purchased upon release, this wine had yellow center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose showed green apple, toasty vanilla, lemon, and soil.

Not surprisingly, this was crisp and a bit disjointed upon first pour. However, after 4+ hours of air it was rich and ripe with great balance and excellent length.

This appears to be coming into its drinking window and it will easily last for 10+ years. If you want to open it now, please be sure to decant it for 4+ hours before commencing consumption. My guess is that this wine will improve by a point or two with 5-10 years of additional bottle age (if you can find a taint free bottle).

December 1, 2014 - White Burgundy Dinner (Amali): Slightly oxidized, with a pronounced nuttiness/butterscotch quality that leaves it short and clipped in the mouth.

June 4, 2013 - Corton night : Wine and Dine (At my place): Light color, herbal nose, great tension, with complexity and rich flavors. I really liked the balance of it. Fantastic stuff.
