July 21, 2021 - Thirsty late night drink at Maison Dakota. Brought by Asparagus. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Aired few hours in bottle already.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity with aromas of perfumed spices, graphite, fruity red berries, red plums, touch of blackcurrant leaf. Some green herbal leafiness more apparent with more air time in glass. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13% only!), fine high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of blackcurrant, fruity red berries and plums, redcurrant, graphite, tobacco, sweet spices, grilled herbs + leafiness. Very long finish.
Very very good quality. Has Bordeaux-like aspects for sure, though the ample fruits still lead to USA. Showing well already, and will also age.

May 31, 2021 - decanted 2 hours then tasted blind, except one whiff and I knew it was a Monte Bello. The nose is addictive. About as good of a nose a wine can have. Savory earth tones and some subtle bing cherry. The palate is coming around on this but it's still got a ways to go. But it's almost as beautiful as the nose. You can drink it with a long decant but I'm going to wait to open any.

April 24, 2021 - Dark red; cherries, earthy notes, a bit of tobacco; rich, classic Bordeaux-like, nice long aftertaste with nuances

March 3, 2021 - Beautiful wine. Aromas of blackcherry, cassis, cedar, spices. Earthy.
Flavours follow. Great structure with plenty of fruit left, medium acidity, dusty fading tannins. Medium + length to finish.

February 16, 2021 - Opened a 375. Viniferatu basically nails it. No decant needed but a good bit of fine sediment so straining is required.
