November 12, 2017 - The nose is full of sweet berries, florals, and a hint of manure. Clearly mature, sweet, silky, lavender, berries, and leather, moderate length. Having drunk about 2 cases of this vintage over the years, I would regrettably say this wine is on the downslope. Lovely still, but drink up.

November 5, 2017 - One of us thought this was great but I thought it a little over the hill. Still tannic and some classic cdp flavours, but also some astringency and maybetending a little too far to vinegar.

March 11, 2017 - This bottle showed better than the one I had a few months ago. Nice earthy aromas. Good fruit, silky texture, nice acidity and unobtrusive tannins. Well balanced. In a good place, but should hold its form for a while longer.

November 23, 2016 - Decanted for 1 hr, tasted over 2 hrs; bottle from secondary market
    -dark core moderate bricking
-lovely fully mature grenache-predominant CdP nose with some faint residual kirsch, pine needle and pepper
-mature palate starting to tire with a touch of heat and med- tannins displaying some bitterness and slightly dried out
-not bad but this bottle is a little past its prime

Rockss and Fruit

(Bois de Boursan Chateauneuf-du-Pape) I love '01 in the Southern Rhone as it was a perfect vintage. Not to hot and the wines have a cooling minerality plus wonderful bright acids. This wine had one thing the 2005 did not have. Amazing freshness. Just sick, twisted amazing freshness combined with cooling minerality, lovely kirsch and cherry fruit that was stunningly pure and a long finish. Just so damn balanced, fresh and pure.
