September 1, 2013 - Fairly reasonable complexity for the tariff, but in a ripe, sweet black-fruited style. Very dark, opaque. Plums, dark fruits, herbs, light cedar. Medium+ bodied. Not bad.
April 22, 2013 - Seriously impressive for $10, this is medium-full bodied with pretty solid balance and an appealing black currant and plum, it's very dark ruby and the fruit is as dark as one could want. Quite smooth, too, I'd like more acid but it works well for this kind of wine. Hint of herbs and Douro bake. Lacks a little in the finish but we can't expect the world at this price point.
November 20, 2012 - color: red-purple velvet; nose: very faint oak; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, listless Old World red fruit taste, slightly green-chalky spicebox finish; overall: meh -- sadly, a tired-tasting Old World style that lacks zip and which I don't favor, and without any stand-out features to recommend it
October 25, 2012 - Odds & Ends - Reds: SRP: $12. Wild, dark, herbaceous nose of blackberries and plums, backed by oak and dark soil. The palate is supple and ripe, showing some harshness towards the finish.
May 22, 2012 - A good daily drinker that offers surprising complexity for the price point. Sweet black cherry and hints of chocolate on the palate, with a mineral-tinged finish.
