October 26, 2013 - On the nose when first opened, and during the first taste, we got a funky, smokey, burnt brown sugar, weedy smell and taste. With some air, most but not all that dissipated. When things settled down, the natural flavors and aromas of Carmenere made their presence known. The result is a big, unctuous, very fruity wine with some not so wonderful secondary flavors. You can think beyond the rusticity to a lot of juicy red raspberry meets cherry and blackberry. Big, but civilized tannins. Plenty of judicious oak. The finish shows some rich leesy enhancements to the smokey dark fruit.

May 27, 2013 - {cork, 13.5%} Well, I'm with the other reviews here. A touch rustic on the nose; smoky tobacco and slightly green weedy, herbal notes; it may be cabernet-dominant in composition but it's the carmenere that stands out. Slightly gritty but genuine tannins frame the light-medium-bodied palate; it's not gloopy or too sweet; the finish is pretty short but for $10 you can't complain much. Honest pizza wine.

March 30, 2013 - Around 15$ for this young, organic vino from Chile...Nose is a little smokey, green pepper notes. Palate is sharp and a tad harsh with acid and light, but coating tannin. Needs some food. Get again a smoked/light ashtray quality of dark fruit. Doesn't get anymore complex with finish. This may sound off putting, but is decent experience, perhaps reflects the cab/carm combo. Lighter style overall as well. This is only about 1.5 yrs old, and would do well for with another yr in bottle.
