December 12, 2020 - Quite interesting. Drank via Coravin with tagliatelle bolognese and with osso bucco. Paired better with the osso bucco and I suspect would pair even better with wild boar or other game. Biggest impression of note was that the nose had an odd character to it. Not bad, per se, but not immediately attractive either. I’d describe it as a sort of funk combined with a shellfish/oyster aroma that was unexpected, especially for a red. The earthy funk eventually blew off but the shellfish remained. Thankfully, neither was present on the palate. Initially the palate was very reserved - almost flat. But over time it revealed pleasant earth, pine and other rough herbaceous flavors (maquis?). Some fruit, but not much in the way of fruit character. I agree with earlier comments that this was reminiscent of red burgundy, combined with some rougher, obscure Italian red varietals.

January 20, 2019 - From a magnum. Opened, but not decanted, for about 45 minutes before being poured. As with the last time we had this, some of the group didn't care for it, others loved it. It reminded me of a Sangiovese with a touch of Pinot Noir thrown into the mix.

July 21, 2016 - Had this at a restaurant out of a magnum as part of a large format night w/ 16 people. Most of the group loved this (a few didn't care for it). A beautiful nose, a medium-high acid wine. Some fruit, but not a fruit bomb. As for going with food, it went well with the same items that the 2005 Potel Burgundy that was part of the dinner.

March 24, 2013 - Incredible nose of roses, cherries and flint! Beautiful bright red fruit taste. Hold the next bottle for 5-8 years!
