August 6, 2023 - Gorgeous bottle of chard. Lightly creamy, nutty, lemon curd, lightly smokey, citrus and stone fruit. . Great depth and length Bottle emptied way too quick with the six of us.

May 22, 2022 - Remarkably fresh in expression. No way you put this on a decade old if served blind. Showing some primary honeysuckle and orange blossom on the nose. The texture is quite lean and not showing the weight of the listed 14.5%. Kina of steely actually. Maybe a bit weightier on night two. Just carrying along like time is on its side. Good stuff for those that like a less rich take on domestic Chardonnay.

December 21, 2021 - Slo-oxed for 15 minutes, chilled. The color was a clear pale straw yellow. The nose yielded lemon and touches of oak. The oak was a bit more prominent on the medium plus palate along with lemon creme, green apple, a touch of minerality and balancing acidity. Should hold for at least another year.
Had this wine alongside the Hanzell Chardonnay de Brye Vineyard 2011 and that wine showed more lemon, more acidity, and less oak.

May 29, 2021 - Probably held this too long although Hanzell Chardonnays can usually age. Everything just felt a little old and faded. Still some citrus, but acidity had overtaken it. Have 2012-2015s that I think I ought to be drinking up.

    March 8, 2021 - WIML93

    Tasted non blind.

Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of perfume, talc, Graham crackers, yellow pears and brown spices. Flavors of lemon, tart Grannie Smith apples, cherries and minerals. Medium acidity, full bodied. Drink now.
