  December 15, 2017 - 2.5 hour decant. Very dark ruby color. Very Syrah-like nose of charred beef, sawdust and diminished dark fruit. Smooth, dry palate. Soft tannins on medium finish.

  November 24, 2017 - 30 min decant in fridge (i.e. cold shock). Deep ruby color with yellowing rim. Prune, sweet tobacco and teriyaki spices on the rich nose. Smooth, mouth-drying palate. Rounded tannins on spicy, medium long finish. This is a terrific Merlot with more years left in it.

  July 3, 2013 - Quite ferrous and savory, with a red-earth quality that reminded me of sangiovese. Relatively bright acidity and more red-fruited than merlot's more typical dark plums. Medium tannins. I don't have previous experience with this wine and may have caught it at an awkward time - fruit somewhat faded but mature flavors not yet developed. Interesting expression of merlot, though.
