December 17, 2022 - Biondi Santi Masterclass. Warm vintage. Great tertiary notes of tobacco, wet leaves, flint and forest floor notes. The fruit is starting to fade away, although it still has pronounced flavour intensity and long finish.

October 6, 2021 - Wilson Daniels Dinner (Smyth and The Loyalist - Chicago IL): So much red and black cherry comes across as dense, well spiced, meaty , and layered. Still firm and almost unfriendly, but this is giving us a peak into its greatness. Certainly upside from here, better 2030-2060. Note that this was a perfectly stored bottle directly from Biondi-Santi via Wilson Daniels.

November 7, 2019 - Color: ruby, brown rim
Nose: autumn leaves, chocolate, coffee, red fruit, leather, so enormously complex. Only the smell could keep me triggered for a couple of hours.
Taste: fresh and sweet red fruit at the same time. Nice and round tannins. Medium acidity and a slightly drying long finish. Changes in the glass every minute with green herbs; rosemary and thyme. Really great wine!
Overall: at his peak right now we’re it will stay for some years, but if you have one in the cellar open it 12 hours in advance. Do not decant!

July 15, 2019 - Biondi-Santi Riserva wine dinner (Taberna, Bukit Merah): A towering wine - this was my favourite amongst a line-up including some of the very best vintages of Biondi-Santi from the past 3 decades. It was perhaps quieter, less immediately generous than a few of the other greats one show, but there was a breathtakingly quiet intensity and focus about this wine that made it really stand out. It started with a deep, meaty nose, with its more savoury characteristics wrapped around a core of dark cherries and berries, some gentle spice and herb notes, and then a garland of dried flowers. Superb. The palate had such a wonderful poise and shape to it, with a lovely backbone of fresh acidity fine tannins forming an elegant frame for a subtle, complex unfolding of dark cherries and berries, against a backdrop of earthy, dusty, dried earth, mineral, spice. all drawing into a long finish. There was a real quiet, almost profound intensity and depth to the wine, and yet it was so sinewy, defined, and elegant, that one barely felt its weight at all. Such a compete wine, and so wonderfully integrated as well - this was one of those wine that showed as a beautifully perfect whole. I thought it was showing well a few hours after being double-decanted, but this is one that will age effortlessly through the ages.

November 28, 2018 - Drunk at the Fine Wine Experience Biondi-Santi Riserva Rarities Dinner at Otto e Mezzo in Hong Kong. Some oxidation or volatile acidity initially which dissipated. More resolved than I would have expected, perhaps this bottle is not as giving as I would have thought from this wine in this vintage. The acid is present though, so that's a positive.
