April 9, 2018 - Nose: fruity with some prune
Taste: licorice, prune, spice, good tannin, a nice wine.
December 28, 2017 - 3 hour decant.
A big blockbuster of a wine - a little sour today, but somehow getting away with it over black fruits and fine edges - pretty long.
September 30, 2016 - 4 hour decant. 15%.
Well - 2 years on - still a very fine wine - less aggressive and grippy than I remember - hints of background honey starting to show - complex forest fruits - elegant and rich - fair finish - nice wine.
September 30, 2014 - I've been wondering if this was a keeper, or even if I should put a few more bottles in the cellar (it's on the supermarket shelves) , so I dug one out and gave it 6 hours in the decanter. Certainly the long decant has smoothed it out - it's still a heavy chappie, full of fruit and with a very long finish. A few more for the cellar would not come amiss, methinks.
March 9, 2014 - great wine and ready to drink
December 10, 2013 - This is a rich, heavy wine - full of complex, dark, flavours - but perhaps best after, rather than with, a strong dinner.
