September 26, 2021 - Deep dark ruby. The tiny cork was in fine shape, no sign of seepage. Fill was perfect. All of this despite less than ideal storage conditions. The wine itself was singing. Vibrant, pure, no obvious signs of degradation. No crazy fruit bomb, this. A bare and pleasant suggestion of green stems added complexity. Alcohol was not stated on the label, but seemed appropriately low. If California Cabernet were like this today, we would still be interested in it. (And thanks for sharing this, Michael.)

August 11, 2015 - Cork was still in good condition. Unsure of the storage conditions but the outside label was pretty beat up. Fortunately, the wine inside was still alive and well. Still had some fruit on this with more mature notes. Showing a lot of similarities to a nice aged Bordeaux. Open for a couple of hours and it really hung in there. Pretty impressive showing for a wine I thought was shot.

March 4, 2014 - Crumbling cork, though no signs of seepage and very good fill. Sadly, this is on a definite downswing. Fairly consistent with my first bottle. Very pretty aromatics, but a somewhat sour, "non-descript old Cali cab" palate that indicates a wine a few years past their prime. My last of three auction-lot bottles, and all were disappointing.

November 10, 2013 - VA. Cork showed some mold and felt fairly soft throughout. Color was fine (medium garnet).

August 16, 2013 - Good fill, though the cork was in poor condition. Deep ruby with the slightest bricking. Nose of cherry, herbs, wood. Med acid, med+ body, fading dusty tannins. Medium finish of cherry and sage. Perhaps a slightly out-of-condition bottle, but this was a nice, simple, cab. Started to fall apart after an hour. Good.
