August 24, 2021 - Much more honeyed than the ‘13 leistenberg kabinett I opened a few days ago. Much more tropical fruit, carmelized pineapple, wish for a bit more acid, bit clingy on the finish but delicious.

May 10, 2021 - Medium yellow. Ripe tropical fruit aromas. Medium weight, quite glycerine and round. Sweet stone fruit and pineapple with an herbal thread. Lowish acidity (making it open and friendly now), a good dollop of soil on the finish. More of a dessert style Spätlese.

October 22, 2020 - Deep yellow. Ripe yellow stone fruit and spice on the nose and palate. Moderate sweetness and weight. Lots of soil on the finish. No faulting the volume or purity of fruit, just somewhat fat and simple for a 9 year old Riesling.

July 23, 2019 - No formal note but superb. Dark gold, floral and citrus bouquet. Long, well balanced and complex.

(Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Spätlese) ($122.00) Queenly, powerful but sedate; trails a heavy vinous finish, shows its essential core, coiled yet fluid, massive yet furtive; leaf and quince, gorgeous and calm, and with a little jab of acidity as it finishes. ++
